BUYING DECISIONS / COFFEE SUBSCRIPTIONS
Updated October 2026
A coffee subscription should match your routine—not dictate it.
Some drinkers want the same bag waiting when they need it. Others want to try different roasts, buy gifts, or skip a month altogether. Here's how recurring coffee orders compare with one-time purchases, including an actual cost example from Bilge Brew.
Choose a subscription when you've found a coffee you regularly finish, you like its planned delivery interval, and the discount plus shipping terms make sense. Choose a one-time order when you're exploring different coffees, don't know your consumption rate, or prefer to order only when needed.
A subscription can reduce cost per delivery, but it also authorizes future charges until you change or cancel it. Verify the price and schedule at checkout.

Examples use our October 19, 2026 prices and subscription discounts. They exclude tax and other promotions; shipping and the final total may vary at checkout. A subscription repeats at the interval you choose.
Choose your bag size first. Then your delivery schedule.
Buying too much coffee defeats the convenience of automation. Choose the amount you'll actually finish between deliveries, and remember that another person in the household may have different preferences.
12 oz: try it, or keep it moving
Useful for an individual drinker, a household experimenting with roasts, or anyone who wants smaller bags. Bilge Brew currently offers 12 oz subscription plans every two weeks or monthly on participating individual coffees.
2 lb: a reliable household staple
Suitable when you already know your roast and finish bags quickly. The current options include every three weeks or monthly on participating individual coffees.
5 lb: only when you use it
A better fit for larger households, offices or high-use routines. Participating coffees currently offer monthly or every-two-month options. Store unopened coffee appropriately and avoid stockpiling merely for the discount.
Bundles: make them one-time first
Samplers are made for discovery. Our Drink It Black Bundle and Crew Sampler are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Try different roasts, then subscribe to the individual coffee you reorder.
Pick the eligible coffee, size and plan. Review the recurring price and frequency on the product page before adding it to cart.
Read the checkout disclosure. A subscription authorizes recurring charges according to the selected terms. It's not the same thing as paying once for a bundle.
Use the management link. You can change or cancel your Bilge Brew subscription using the management link in your order confirmation. See our subscription policy for details.
Allow for processing and delivery. Allow 2–4 business days for us to process and prepare your coffee before it ships, plus transit time. If you're nearly out of coffee, don't assume a new plan will arrive tomorrow.
Before placing a subscription order, double-check the recurring price, next charge date and delivery schedule. You can manage upcoming orders through the link in your order confirmation. See Bilge Brew FAQ and the subscription cancellation policy.

Common questions about ordering coffee regularly
Are coffee subscriptions worth it?
They're worth considering when you know what you drink, consume the delivery before the next one arrives, and value both the recurring discount and the convenience. If you rarely finish a bag on schedule, a one-time order may be better.
Is a coffee subscription cheaper than buying once?
It can be. For General Quarters, the checked 12 oz plan is 8% below its listed one-time coffee price, and the 2 lb plan is 10% below. We also offer free shipping on subscription orders. Check the final price and schedule at checkout.
Can I cancel a Bilge Brew coffee subscription?
Yes. You can change or cancel a Bilge Brew subscription at any time. Use the link in your order confirmation, and see our subscription policy for full details.
Can I subscribe to every coffee bundle?
Not every product is eligible. Our Drink It Black and Crew Sampler bundles are sold as one-time purchases. Subscriptions are available on participating individual coffees.
How much coffee should I subscribe to?
Start with how quickly you finish your current bag. Choose a delivery interval that fits that pace, and check that your available storage keeps beans away from air, heat and moisture.

REGULAR DAILY DRIP
General Quarters
Medium-dark, drip-friendly coffee with 12 oz, 2 lb and 5 lb one-time and recurring options.
The individual-coffee starting prices shown above are for 12 oz bags. Drink It Black includes three full-size 12 oz bags for $60.97. Check the product pages for current prices.
The decision in one sentence
Choose one-time orders to explore; subscribe only after you've found a coffee you genuinely use and a schedule that fits. Coffee should make your routine easier, not give you another billing reminder to worry about.
