Bilge Brew Coffee Co. was built for people who show up early, stay late, and do the job whether anyone’s watching or not.
My name is Nathan Janusz. I’m a U.S. Navy veteran, a registered nurse, and a proud husband and father. I’ve stood watch, worked through nights, and lived on bad sleep and strong coffee—just like a lot of people who keep things running when most of the world is asleep. Bilge Brew exists for that crowd: sailors, veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and anyone who understands what it means to carry responsibility and do it again tomorrow.
The name comes from the bilge—the lowest part of the ship. It’s not glamorous, but it matters. If you’ve served, you know that some of the most important work happens out of sight, in places most people never think about. That’s the spirit behind this brand.
We don’t make slop. We make dependable, well-built blends and single origins with a clear purpose—coffee that holds up through long shifts, early mornings, and real life. Every blend is inspired by shipboard language and routine, not as a gimmick, but as a nod to the culture and work ethic that shaped us.

More About the Owner
Before Bilge Brew existed, coffee was already part of my daily routine—and not just as fuel.
I’ve worked in healthcare as a registered nurse, served in the U.S. Navy, and spent time behind the bar at Starbucks. Across all of it, one thing stayed consistent: I care about what goes into a cup. Taste matters. Consistency matters. And ingredients matter—especially when coffee isn’t just a treat, but something you rely on every day.
Working in coffee taught me how much difference sourcing, roasting, and balance actually make. It also showed me how easy it is to hide poor quality behind sugar, syrups, or hype. Bilge Brew is built on the opposite idea: clean coffee, well-roasted, with nothing added that doesn’t belong there.
Every blend we offer is chosen for flavor, balance, and reliability. No shortcuts. No artificial nonsense. Just solid coffee that tastes the way it should—whether you drink it black, with cream, or halfway through a long shift.
Bilge Brew reflects how I drink coffee myself: strong, dependable, and made with care. If it’s not something I’d drink personally, it doesn’t make it to your cup.
